First of all, I wanted to take a moment to say a big thank you for being a part of Kadidja’s mission and taking the time out of your busy schedule to read this newsletter every month — I truly appreciate it.
Here’s a picture I took in Times Square just before the New Year began.
I wish everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year ! As an African proverb says, “Alone a youth runs fast. With an elder slow, they may go slow — but together they go far.”
I am super looking forward to 2026 with new projects yet to come. I am also open to collaboration ! If you have an interesting idea, reach out !

And around the East Village and beyond…
In mid January we had a big snowstorm, which brought nearly a foot of snow. Here are some pictures I took of scenes in Tompkins Square Park and the East River Park this past Sunday.
The city experienced a significant and record-breaking winter storm, with 11.4 inches of snow recorded in Central Park.
Mayor Zohran Mamadani’s Inaugural Address

Early In early January, a significant change occurred at City Hall as we New Yorkers officially welcomed our new mayor.
His inaugural address was passionate and inspiring. I hope you will watch it if you have not seen it.
The moment felt fitting for our winter so far — quite cold ! His speech reminded us that we are all a part of this city and all can and should contribute to making it as best as it can be.
