I’m excited to share that .nyc recently featured the story of how I started Kadidja Handmade Collection. It really all did start in my kitchen in the East Village! And now I ship my products across the U.S., making them by hand using only 100% all-natural and sustainably sourced shea butter and shea oil. And it is all thanks to your support.
A tree in New York City has it tough, if you ask me. People can be quite careless in how they treat them. I’ve seen bikes chained to trees and of course all kinds of trash strewn about them. Given how important and valuable trees are, we need to do better.
I was excited to help do something to help out the trees on my block as part of the lower East Side Ecology Center’s Coolest Block initiative. For that work, I was commended by the Center with a Third Place award for caring for the tree wells on East 11th Street.
Here I am receiving an award from Maddy Molina, the Center’s tree care coordinator. The bag holds some daffodil bulbs, which I actually planted just today!
Block Party !
From the Lower East Side to the Upper West Side to Brooklyn…
Block parties in New York City help everyone get out and connect with their communities. They are amazing events and I was very happy to take my products on the road to the Upper West Side (pictured above) as well as to Brooklyn for some great events. I also participated in the 10th Street Block Festival.
