Love & Culture!

As Lunar New Year, the holy month of Ramadan and Lent coincide (which occurs every 33 years) I am wishing all a peaceful and prosperous future !

Artists Rashid Johnson

I am inspired by the story of Rashid Johnson, an African American man who began his own art-making exhibitions for museums using Shea Butter. As we celebrate African American History month, I find his story inspirational.
Stories like this are ultimately about love and culture.

When the air is this dry, Shea is the best thing for your skin

Self-care is critical! I stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. I opt for light soups and incorporate vegetabales info your diet. And I try to exercise regularly when I can to maintain a healthy skin.

I’m working on getting more sleep to ensure my body gets the rest it needs.

During Ramadan, I fast, which I feel reconnects me to the spirit of life, grandly speaking. It reminds me of the daily habits we follow — not just eating food but in all aspects of our lives. Eating is a metaphor; it is not just food we ingest that keeps us healthy, but also the ideas and information we consume!

I focus on skin care but healthy skin is the result of many factors. In direct care, I use a soft natural brush to gently exfoliate dead skin without stripping moisture. This helps maintain a balanced skin barrier and promotes healthy skin. I do this once  a week — when I am not planning on going outside right away.
